Cap: Bracket 10-20cm. Globular at first, then becoming flat and plate-like. Pale brown when young darkening with age.

Stem: Lateral, rudimentary

Tubes: White

Pores: Round. White, but greying with age.

Spores:

Flesh: White

Habitat: On Birch - dead trunks or ailing trees.

Frequency: Very Common

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Not Edible
