Cap: 5-30cm Orange-yellow irregular fan-shaped bracket.

Stem: Abscent

Tubes: 1-3mm Sulphur yellow

Pores: Sulphur yellow

Spores: White

Flesh: Soft and juicy when young and fresh. Chalky and crumby when older.

Habitat: In tiers on deciduous trees. Particularly Oak, Sweet Chestnut and Yew.

Frequency: Common

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Good

Eating notes: Only young fresh brackets should be eaten. If it is soft and exudes yellow sap when squeezed it is good.
