Cap: 2-5cm Brown. Covered in long (3-5mm) spines which tend to be dropped with age.

Stem: Short, sometimes almost absent.

Spores: Brown

Flesh: White and soft. Later brown and powdery.

Habitat: On the ground in deciduous or coniferous woods

Frequency: Occasional

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Not Edible
