Fruit body: 6-12cm Pale grey brown. Pear-shaped, tapering into a short base. Surface scurfy with fibrous warts, often dividing into hexagonal patches.
Spores: Olive-brown.
Flesh: White and moist when young, later powdery and olive-brown.
Habitat: In grass. Sometimes appearing in groups.
