Cap: 4-10cm Pale ochre. Initially convex, quickly flattening with a depressed centre.

Gills: Pale cream. Very crowded.

Stem: White or pale grey.

Spores: Pale cream.

Flesh: White, brittle.

Habitat: On the ground in mixed woodland

Frequency: Very Common

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Edible

Eating notes: Has a slightly acrid taste that parboiling may remove.
