Fruit body: Irregular, cup-shaped. Deep orange above, paler dusty orange below. Resembles thin pieces of orange peel lying on the ground.

Stem: None

Spores: White

Flesh: Off-white, brittle.

Habitat: In groups, on bare earth or with grass.

Frequency: Common

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Edible

Eating notes: Good for adding colour to dishes. The tough texture benefits from longer cooking.

Preserving: Can be dried.
