Panthercap (Amanita pantherina)

Cap: 5-10cm Brown with small white warty scales.

Gills: Free, white, crowded

Stem: White, scurfy with a pendulous ring. The base of the stem show a clear ring where the volva ends together with one or two separate ring belts.

Spores: White

Flesh: White, unchanging when cut.

Habitat: On the ground in mixed woodland.

Frequency: Occasional

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Very Poisonous
