Cap: 5-12cm high, cylindrical. White, covered in pale fibrous scales.
Gills: Free. Initially white, then turning black and deliquescing.
Stem: Tall, white and hollow. Has a thin loose ring which often falls down the stem.
Spores: Brownish-black
Habitat: On the ground with grass. Common on roadsides and path edges.
Frequency: Very Common

Eating notes: Only eat while the gills are still pale and haven't started to deliquesce.
