Cap: 7-12cm Grey-brown. Initially convex expanding to almost flat. Distinctly grooved margin. Covered in large flaky grey scales.

Gills: White, crowded

Stem: Tall, pale grey. Covered in white wavy horizontal bands. Often with a ring of veil remnants low down. No ring.

Spores: White

Flesh: White

Habitat: On the ground in mixed woodland

Frequency: Occasional

Season:  Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  May  Jun  Jul  Aug  Sep  Oct  Nov  Dec 

Edibility: Not Edible

Eating notes: Edibility unknown, but may well be poisonous.
