Cap: size 5-10cm; colour grey; shape convex, later flattened.

Gills: colour brown,pink; free; crowded.

Stem: length 6-10cm; width 1-1.5cm; colour white; bulbous base; large ring.

Spores: dark brown.

Flesh: colour white; discolours yellow - particularly at the base of the stem.

Habitat: found in a variety of woodland and scrub. Grows singly or in small groups.

Frequency: occasional.

Using smell and taste to help identify mushrooms.
